Best Coast Clothing

Idea

The idea of Best Coast Clothing came from the saying “West Coast is the Best Coast.” I have a personal connection to the artist Emily Carr, who is known for her West Coast paintings and love of animals.  

Process

I combined her paintings with the silhouettes of West Coast animals. Emily Carr is important to me. Carr has the same degree of talent and spirit as the iconic Frida Kahlo and I want to see Emily Carr reach that same international iconic status. I purposely chose paintings which best reflect the various animals.  

Result

In the end the shirt designs that came really represent what the west coast is to me and to many others.
