We all know the myth of Bloody Mary, it is said if you stand alone in a dark room and utter her name three times she will appear and kill you. At least that is how the myth goes, and that is the myth I decided to do for a After Effects project, show casing my skills in simple 2D animation.
Process
After coming up with the idea I started to work out how I was going to do it. Since I knew the history of the name Bloody Mary, being after the Queen of England Mary I, I wanted my design to be a representation after her and to throw in the inside joke of her victim being her younger sister Elizabeth I.
I was inspired by cut out dolls and collages for how I wanted to do the animation. By taking a series of stock images and pasting them together in Photoshop I created something new.
